Response : "A Solution to A Solution Problem"

  • in a line like y=-5x+10 a solution is when one side is equal to the other.
for example,
in y = -5x + 10 you can substitute (0,10) for x and y
and your answer will be 10=10
  • on a graph the solution is a one of many points that land on the line

  • a system of equations means that x and y make both of the equations equal.
  • a solution for two equations is where the lines intersect
  • on a graph it means the exact point where the lines intersect

  1. =) I can see you understand this. In response to what a system of equations is though, it's just more than one line, instead of just one. The SOLUTION to the system is an (x, y) that make BOTH the equations true.
